What is madness.....? is it a social statement..

i have a friend....still in my department... . very intelligent... a rank holder in S.S.L.C ...i am really amazed at his verbal and computational skills .... for a stranger he is simply a genius... but he is mad... he knows that he is mad... we know that he is mad ..Dr. MRS Menon has been treating him for more than two decades... for him the verbal skills and the ability to articlate and expalin events , situations and even philosphical issues are symptoms of madness while for others they are pointers towards the grateness of their talent... why it is so? it seems that the realtionship between the self and the world is far from simple... the more important question is: ,"are not doing injustice when we call him mad ... and more painfully he is forced to accept it.
