Why Children are deprived of even the right to life ?

Akruti Bhatia, 17 -year-old school girl of Modern School, Vasant Vihar succumbed to death after an asthma attack, primarily due to the “negligence” of the school authorities.
“She [Goldie Malhotra, the pri ncipal of the school] killed my friend,” said one of Akruti’s friend. “Does she have any answer why the oxygen mask was removed from Akruti when she was battling for life? Does she have any answer as to why an ambulance could not be arranged for Akruti?”Lovlin Therani, a former member of the school’s Parent-Teacher Association, said Ms. Malhotra should have herself taken the girl to the hospital in her car.
“Instead of taking Akruti in her own car, she waited 45 minutes till the girl’s family sent their car. Is this her sensitivity towards children’s health,” she asked...... ( based on the reports from The Hindu )

However the Delhi goverment has ordered an enquiry in to the death of Akruthi..

Corporal punishment is illegal in India .. but why teachers are permitted to resort to it..?
Shanno Khan, a little 11-year old girl is dead after her teacher subjected her to severe corporal punishment by forcing her to stand outside in the hot sun. Corporal punishment is illegal in India but Little Shanno Khan was severely punished, literally left in the sun to die, for not completing a homework assignment. For hours the 11-year old stood in the blaring New Delhi sun; her nose started to bleed, she fainted, and eventually slipped into a coma in hospital where she died.
