devi's poems

The warrior is bleeding,
The warrior is struggling,
Struggling to see light,
Plunged into darkness,
But still,
Always ready for a fight,
Can’t the world see such a warrior?
Did they lose their vision?
Or is it that he has lost his?

An attempt to recreate....
An attempt to stand up,
An attempt to face the world,
An attempt to put a mask (over whom)?,
An attempt to erase off the past,
An attempt to seek happiness,
An attempt to struggle; with a smile,
An attempt to love what was hated,
An attempt,
An attempt to LIVE………

IN HER PRESENCE..............( A Mother's Day Thought)

A short but difficult journey,

Still continues,

Not to be spent in greeting people,

But to deepen yourself.............

Where words are useless,

Silence can be a message,

A constant companion in my journey...............

Once a great saint said:

"Stay in the presence of those

who remind you of your lord.

who not only speak wisdom, but are that"

I did just that,

I stayed (maybe not physically)

I stayed

In presence of my mother..............

Changing the rules.....To Top and Beyond......

Naina Lal Kidwai

Kiran Mazumdar Shaw
(MD & CEO Biocon)

Chanda Kochhar ,
(M.D& CEO ,ICCIBank)

Women in top management positions are still a rare species......
But things are changing and more and more women are heading teams and delivering results.

At ICICI, its a woman's leadership that's making the mark........Leading India's largest private sector bank, at the age of 44, Chanda Kochhar is still learning.....From a management trainee to the CEO of ICICI, it has definitely been a winning journey for Chanda, who believes that there is no substitute for hardwork.....

She played a key role in shaping the retail finance industry of the country and the bank has won the award for the best retail bank for four years, thrice in a row (2003, '04 and '05) under her leadership.......A diligent student, this Jodhpuri girl, was busy collecting gold medals for management studies and cost accountancy in her college days...In just five years she made ICICI the largest private sector financier in the country.............

Naina Lal Kidwai 's the first Indian woman to graduate from the Harvard Business School...She began her career in banking with ANZ Grindlays and moved on to head the Indian operations of Morgen Stanley. In 2002, she joined HSBC as head of its investment banking business. She is the first woman to head the operations of a foreign bank in India...

  • In 2005, she was made the country head of HSBC Group in India.

  • She was honoured for her exemplary work in the Promotion of Trade and Industry, with Padma Shri

  • In the yr 2000, the Fortune magazine declared her as the third most powerful businesswoman in Asia!!

Felicitated with PadmaShri (1989) and PadmaBushan (2005), Dr.Kiran Mazhumdar Shaw was termed as "India's mother of invention" by the New York Times...

With a capital of Rs. 10,000, she founded Biocon India in collaboration with Biocon Biochemicals. Biocon's initial operation was to extract an enzyme from papaya. Banks were hesitant to give loans as biotechnology was a totally new field at that point of time, and she was a WOMAN entrepreneur, which was a RARE phenomenon.....

Over the years, the company grew under her stewardship and today, Biocon is the biggest pharmaceutical firm in India......
Even as the corporate world celebrates the rise of women in its ranks, thousands of women entrepreneurs are working hard to prove that even when it comes to strating and sustaining a business, they are second to none.........

Against all odds...

T. Mitra

T.Mitra and Sivaprasad.S are not just the two rank holders from Kerala in the Civil services examinations . But they are the testimonials of the triumph of human will against heavy odds.

Miss Mitra, a post graduate in English Literature from All Saint's College ,Trivandrum, whose success tastes the salt of the tears due to the untimely depart of her parents. Mitra's mother,B.Seethalakshmi, passed away last Julywhile she on the exams; her father was battling for his life in an ICU when she was facing her interview. After a month, he too left this world . When she was completing the ast rites of her father, S. Thrivikraman Nair, she received the news of her being the 10th rank holder in the UPSC exams. Daivathente vikruthikal!!!

On the other hand, Sivaprasad, was not satisfied with an LDC posting or as a senior assisstant in ISRO. This school topper who passed his degree in computer applications with 84 percentage, did not stop even after failing in his first 2 attempts. Poverty was never a hurdle for this 467th rank holder.......

Where there is a will there's a way.......

ചില വഴിയോരക്കാഴ്ചകള്‍

Can u just identify these places....
Nachinadu?Palakkad? Kuttanadu?
No, u've got it all wrong....
They are images i got from the waysides of Tirunellvelli and Pollachi respectively......
Imagine.... Pandi Nadu which allegedly steal our water !!!..... What a sight??
And in Kerala, God's own Land ? kindly Pass through the high ways catch the glimpses....
Where all the resources are available, do we see such sights?......green fields, young coconut trees.......
Very rarely, rt?......
So, what does that mean?...... Where did we go wrong?...... Is it mind set?

വലിയ ചെറിയ കാര്യങ്ങള്‍

If possible in Tamil Nadu, why not in God's Own Country? Wth a little bit of imagiantion and effort .. .....a prefabricated structure .. .......cost - effective and simple design to provide shelter to weary travellers...a very good example....
If we can't lead in some things, why not follow?
